As part of the Writer’s Wriot (scheduled for October 14th, 2012), the Club is sponsoring a writing contest.
The deadline for submissions is August 2nd, 2012.
There are three categories:
- Poetry, Maximum 60 lines or 600 words
- Fiction, Maximum 2500 words
- Non-Fiction (autobiographical story, essay, etc), Maximum of 2500 words
- Arizoniana (any form, must be centered on Arizona, preferably its centennial), Maximum 2500 words (prose) or 60 lines (poetry).
The category in which an entry will be judged is whatever the entrant says it is. If you say it’s non-fiction, it gets judged as non-fiction, and similarly for the other categories.
Three prizes are awarded in each category: First place winners will receive $200.00; Second Place $100.00; and Third Place $50.00. The judges may also recognize meritorious entries as “Honorable Mention”. Honorable Mention carries no cash prize.
Winning entries (including entries judged as “honorable mention”) will be published in The Hidden River Cache. Authors
retain all other rights to their works.
For details of rules, see Contest Rules; for entry forms, see Contest Entry Form.
